The bike probably wasn't racing you. Sorry to break your heart. Your car just doesn't have what it takes to beat a 600 SS. 330RWHP at that Gross weight is not even a contender against a Superbike.

So that made my night, he did a fly by when I let off and then he took a corner and ran away. All this happend when I was turning out of school. He was behind me at the light and then I saw him fly up next to me as soon as we hit the main road and then we were off. I've beaten harlies and choppers but this was the first sportbike i've beaten.

Note: This never happened, i wish i could beat motorcycles. My car is slow:smile:

It sounds like you have a very nice mustang there that is coming along nicely. Props on the 8.4 w/1.9. However you can be sure that IF that bike was a 600 or anything close to a crotch rocket made in the past decade it will mop the floor with your car (or comparable car) with a competant driver.

To hang with a properly ridden 600cc bike you will need at mimimun 500rwhp.

You'd be wise NOT to take that bet. Most bikes 1st gear tops out at around 90mph. So him hittin 120 before you hit 60 is VERY possible. Keep in mind that even a 1999 600 should run the 1/4 mile in mid 11s - thats on par with a c6 z06 with an average driver!!

x2!

He probably was doing what I like to do from time to time; See just how slow the other car is. I did this to a porche carrara a while back. Im cruising at 45mph in 6th gear when a carrera pulls out in front of me and nails it. I wait until his speed is roughly equal to mine, then downshifted to 4th (45mph would have me in 2nd if I REALLY wanted to make him cry) and went 3/4 throttle. I kept perfectly equal with him for about 10 seconds until he let off.

Had I downshifted to 2nd like I should have it would have been ugly as hell for him. Bike was probably doing that.

But rest assured - had that crotch rocket really wanted to, he'd have said bye bye.

The only other explaination would be that perhaps the bike wasnt running on all 4 cylinders, or running very poorly...

Anyhow nice mustang and keep up the work to lower that 60' you should be into the low 8s in no time! Any future planned mods?

MustangMan is a jewel in the rough
Supper old thred however I thought I would clear a couple things up....No way in hell do I think I can beat any kind of crotch rocket..nuff said. Guy obviously didn't know how to drive at all....Also, I thought Lucid TC was talking about his Scion....hints his name. But I'm still not certain that a bike can hit 120 in under 5 seconds. If it were a normal 600. BTW, car is down to an 8.02 at IMM with a slipping clutch running lean. Now that those things are fixed I'll be back out there shooting for 7's NA.
